Add an extra dimension to your run with the new Polar RS300X

RS300X

Polar, market leader and pioneer in heart rate training technology, has some great news for anyone signing up for a running event, with the launch of the new RS300X training computer, the ideal training partner for running enthusiasts.

While most training computers provide data on speed and distance, the new RS300X is capable of providing information on heart rate as well, allowing you to understand your run more profoundly. Speed and distance are key training indicators but the added dimension of heart rate tells you exactly when to speed up and slow down, helps you train at the right intensity and recover at the right time. Adding heart rate data helps you to train more effectively and constantly build on your performance, whatever run you’ve signed up to.

“With the RS300X I can easily monitor my training intensity by combining speed and distance with heart rate, even if I do not know my route in advance,” said Maija Oravamäki, an endurance runner with a personal best marathon time of 2:35:37, in the Hamburg Marathon. “Knowing what kind of pace I can hold in different training zones and for how long is invaluable to me. This helps me to keep a steady pace and reach my target time over marathon distance. With the RS300X, I’m not tied to predetermined runs and I receive valuable information about my training in real-time on the run – and more online.”

Preparing for any significant event requires you to be able to plan, analyze and adapt your training plans. The RS300X allows you to do all this with a variety of key training features. Using the FlowLink™, an optional accessory, data from your run can be transferred to your online training diary at polarpersonaltrainer.com. There you can see your progress over time, interact online, download training plans, get tips to tailor training programs and even compete with friends in virtual competitions.

The RS300X is capable of measuring running speed and distance with the S1 foot pod™. It is also GPS compatible when used with the G1 GPS sensor meaning heart rate monitoring can be combined with speed and distance across other sports, including cycling and Nordic skiing.

On sale through authorized Polar retailers from March 2009, the RS300X will be available in sets including the S1 foot pod™ or G1 GPS sensor or as a stand alone training computer for those who already own sensors or want to create their own package. G1 GPS sensor, S1 foot pod™ and Polar FlowLink™ can be purchased separately as accessories.
