Matti Heikkinen made a surprise debut in the podium in Liberec 2009 when he won the bronze medal in 15 km classical cross-country skiing. For years, heart rate monitoring was the single most important benefit of using Polar products for him. Now after Matti’s training has professionalized, altitude differences and length of the incline have become more important. Especially in challenging mountain circumstances it has been extremely beneficial to analyze the training afterwards with the Polar ProTrainer 5. In addition, the software has been extra useful when the coach hasn’t been able to attend the training. Matti’s goal for the Olympic winter is to be in top shape in order to establish his position in the cross-country skiing elite.
